Originally Lincoln and Gaston Counties were combined as the Gaston-Lincoln County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #6. In February of 2004 contact was made with the North Carolina State Lodge about separating Lincoln County from Gaston County and forming our own lodge. Meetings were held during March 2004 and Charter Members were recruited. On April 6th, 2004 Lincolnton-Lincoln County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #85 was born. Thirty seven current and retired law enforcement officers from the Lincolnton Police Department, Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, Charlotte Airport Police, Maiden Police Department, North Carolina Secretary of State, North Carolina Highway Patrol and Gaston County Police Department signed the Lincolnton-Lincoln County Fraternal Order of Police Lodge #85's Charter.
